I would recommend all of my followers to check out the band Explosions in the Sky. Although they are an instrumental rock band, I think they speak for everyone. We can all relate to music, the universal language. It puts us all in sync, even if just for a moment. Definitely worth it.
Forget about him. Sometimes people just don’t know what they want, there’s nothing you can do about it. Find someone that makes you happy and when you think of him and the past, try to remember the good times.
You should never try to suppress feelings. You may realize that the relationship isn’t appropriate and try for someone else, but if your feelings are too strong you should be honest and open with her about how you feel.
This is a problem because the person that cheated is accepting that they deserve to be treated like shit. It is understandable feel angry if the person cheated on you, but once you forgive that person you need to stick to your word. Also, if the person that cheated promises not to again, they should stick to theirs. Forgiveness doesn’t mean making the other person feel bad. The goal is to be able to laugh at it someday, but you should never accept being treated badly in a relationship.
Dream interpretation doesn’t hold much scientific validity. It’s not like people think where dreams have common symbols or give us some deep meaning to be interpreted by a psychoanalysis. The current psychological view on dreams is that they’re only as important as you value them. They allow our minds to creatively solve problems, imagine things that can’t happen in reality, or assemble information that we gather during the day. Your dream may just be random, or maybe it’s the expression of some deep sadness that you’re not letting people know about. Cutting is usually a sign for help, so it may benefit you to talk to someone about it. Preferably a parent or some other adult. Or, it could just be random neurons firing. Only you know how you feel.
The people I see day-to-day mostly know that I sometimes make fun of my blog. How egotistical would it be for me to take my words so seriously? Honestly, I’m not a mental health God yet so most of the time what I say should be taken with a grain of salt. I like to think that what I write helps some people though, at least those that feel like no one will listen to them.
Anorexia nervosa isn’t diagnosed based on BMI. That being said, most people diagnosed are underweight which is about 18.5 or less. Keep in mind that BMI charts are very tricky, some consider more factors than others. A simple BMI only required height, age, and weight. Some take into consideration ethnicity, location, family history, ect. Anorexia nervosa is a multifaceted disorder that can be tied to or caused by totally different mental health problems than just weight.
Thank you so much, my advice is a gift though so I’d prefer if you IM me. WB2498
Sometimes it’s okay to have fun, I’ll probably still answer questions but at times it gets ridiculous.
To explain nurture vs nurture, I always use the alcoholism example. There is a strong correlation between genetics and alcoholism, but if there is no alcohol in the environment, the individual can never possibly grow up to be an alcoholic. As with introversion, nature and nurture must come together to form this trait. I think personality is flexible, in some instances we are all introverted and in others we are extroverted. But the lifestyle itself isn’t a bad thing, as long as it isn’t maladaptive. If the person is so shy that they miss opportunities at school or work or socially with boyfriends or meeting new people, then it becomes a mental problem. But if the person just would rather spend time alone and it doesn’t cause them stress, then more power to them :)
